Lindsay Allen is No. 11 returning Junior in the world (#1 U.S. Returner) off her 6:47.03 at U.S. A. track and field championships at stanford. It is an official event at 2004 World Jr. Champs (in Italy), which Lindsay would be eligible for as she has a 1985 or later year of birth (she was born in 1986 and cannot turn 20 during the year of a Junior Championship affair) . The gentleman who does these world lists only accepts 3.66 water jumps but U.S. makes no differentiation so her best of 6:53.9 makes her the top U.S. Junior age returnee. Bound for Stanford and with the World Junior meet in July (12-18), which would take serious track racing a bit later into the summer than usual for Allen, and the fact that she would have to qualify for the US Team, are all considerations. It is not known what the standard is for the Wold Jr Championships, but the first year it is usually fairly soft if there is even one set up for a new event. With the event moving towards acceptance at the NCAA and all the way up through the Olympic level it is hoped that Lindsay would consider the possibility, with the World Jr Meet in a beautiful setting and the international experience impossible to argue with.
