Quiet Fire TC Stars Ebony Collins and Shelise Williams enter the High School ranks!!

Quiet Fire TC Club Mates Ebony Collins and Shelise Williams enroll in high school

Ebony Collins - super 400m Star (54.08 as 8th grader this summer!!)

One of the great age-group stories of this and recent years has been the success of the Quiet Fire Track Club, which has enjoyed a ton of success from coast to coast fueled by a dynamite crew! Fittingly, perhaps the club highlight of the summer was a 46.58 Youth Division 400m Relay with a squad of Ebony Collins, Shelise Williams, D'Ambour Lewis, and Christina Black (3 8th and 1 7th grader - Lewis)! The squad was super over the 4x400 distance with a 3:47.02, just off the National Record there!

Collins, Williams and Black were eight graders this year, with Lewis only a seventh grader!!! Obviously, all who have come in contact with the group have been holding their breath as to where they will attend high school.

Well, Coach Shelton Hall of Quiet Fire has informed us that Ebony Collins and Shelise Williams will be attending Long Beach Wilson High School, with Black sorting out her prep choices this week. With Wilson, LB Poly, Logan, Merrill West, and North of Riverside lately battling in the individual and relay events the addition of the super individual and baton event stars will lift the stock of the Wilson Cardinals mightily. With Poly taking down Wilson's National 4x400 record this year Coach Kennedy and crew are already probably starting work on righting that situation.

Looks like 2004 and beyond will be cookers!!!
