After being named as the national female and male winners, Allyson Felix of California and LeBron James of Ohio share the interview table and field questions from the media! LeBron's agent was there, as was a bodyguard. No truth to the rumor LeBron was seeking to hire Kirby Lee as his personal photographer. Funniest sight of the luncheon? Right before the TV cameras came on for Allyson and LeBron, NBA star Baron Davis (sitting just off camera) motioned, then his makeup guy ran over, powdered Baron's forehead, and ran scurried off!
The 10 honorees are also attending the ESPYs show at the Kodak Theatre, which will be televised on ESPN tonight, with many of the top athletes in the world in attendance! According to one source, tickets to the event were at $500 a seat!
Fans line up several hours before the start of the event, hoping to get a good spot in eventually being re-directed to a bleachers section to watch the athletes arrive!
The "red carpet" on the sidewalk led
to the red staircase into the Kodak Theatre Complex on Hollywood Boulevard.
The Gatorade function was held here at the ritzy Club One-Seven.
