Golden West girls pole vault Kira Costa sets national record!
It was up-and-over for San Joaquin Memorial's Kira Costa on Sunday, with her "just barely" clearance at 13-08.5 inches breaking the national HS record, leading to.....
Kira's own version of a "Brandi Chastain moment"! Costa was giddy with excitement afterward thrilled to close her high school career in storybook fashion, mentioning that closing her high school career within the Golden State by setting a Golden West meet record, and then topping it with a national record was like a dream. She will join a rapidly improving UC Berkeley in the fall!
