The inaugural Santa Ana Distance Carnival hosted by Santa Ana High School is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2003. The meet consists of the following events:

4 x 1600 Boys and Girls
Medley (800, 400, 400, 800) Boys and Girls
4 x 800 Boys and Girls
Distance Medley (400, 800, 1200, 1600)
3200 meters Boys and Girls (one entry per level only)
4 x 400 Boys and Girls

Divisions: The meet will be divided into 3 Varsity boy divisions and 3 Varsity girl divisions and 2 frosh/soph boy divisions.

Entry Fee: $300.00 ($100.00 per team). Entries will be limited to the first 27 respondents. Make checks payable to:

Staging: The clerk of the course will be located at the south end of the field. Every member of the relay team must check in when the race is called. Athletes must remain and warm-up in the softball field area. No athletes will be allowed in the infield of the track.

Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top 3 teams in each race and ribbons awarded to the next three. Team trophies will be awarded to the winner and runner up in each division.. B Teams will not be awarded.

The Santa Ana Distance Carnival is an excellent opportunity for a positive atmosphere for the student/athletes and the community. It is a wonderful opportunity for your team members to earn a medal and build morale in competitive races. We hope this event becomes an annual tradition that will encourage widespread participation and dedication to the sport. Please return the enclosed entry sheet as soon as possible.
