In the National Inter Club Cross Country Championships in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow, DSD AC won all four team events. This is the first time in championship history that one club has won all four events.

The junior womens team of Linda Byrne 2nd, Michelle Gallagher 3rd, Ruth Mills 9th, Niamh Devlin 11th, Sarah Mulligan 13th, and Clodagh Galloway 14th, took gold with Linda disputing the lead for two of the three laps with the eventual winner and title holder of 2002, Fionualla Britton (Sli Cualann AC). Michelle Gallagher ran very strongly in third place for all of the race.

Note from Timothy Patrick O'Dowd on Michelle:

"Michelle Gallagher (Sacred Heart Cathedral) placed third in the 2003 Junior
Women's Irish Inter Club Junior Championships, which took place at the
Avondale House in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow on 2nd March. The top 3 were a
repeat of last year's race. Fionualla Britton (Slí Chúlainn AC) won her
third consecutive title covering the extremely hilly course in 24.25, well
clear of runner-up Linda Byrne (24.56) and Gallagher (25.21). Byrne and
Gallagher helped Dundrum South Dublin win the team title with 25 points
(2nd, 3rd, 9th, 11th). The Athletics Association of Ireland selected only
the winner to represent Ireland at the upcoming World Cross Country
Championships will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland on 29th - 30th March
