CJ Howard fights against Osteosarcoma - UC Irvine Frosh runner

One of the stars of our local league the last few years, CJ Howard of Crescenta Valley HS in La Crescenta was bothered by some foot problems last year which this year ended up being diagnosed as osteosarcoma, a cancer that develops in the bone. CJ was well enough to run 9:41 in the 3200 and win our Pacific League meet last spring (pictured above in that race leading teammate Chris Snyder), but was forced to recently drop out of UC Irvine as part of the fight against the cancer.
