last weekend in Texas, where she took the just over 6000 meter event by
a full 200 meters, this 5000 indoors is very significant. It is undoubtedly
one of the fastest frosh 5000's ever run indoors, with Lauren Fleshman
(Stanford/Canyon HS, Canyon Country) the National Junior Outdoor best
of 15:50.18, with Clara obviously some shots at coming close to that record
or attempting to break it. The former Head Royce star is really running
great. Her decision on the March 29-30 World Cross-Country Championships
in Switzerland (kind of a tough trip to turn down) off her Junior Championship
race may affect the spring track running a bit. (World
