First, I had to be in my dad's wedding on Friday night. Then, missing the wedding reception and dinner, rushed home where my mom and I left for LAX. Our plane departed at 1:40am Saturday morning. The 3 hour and forty-six minute flight to our connection in Memphis, Tennessee allotted me some of the few hours of rest that I would get throughout my venture. When we arrived in Memphis, at around 7:00am, we made our way through the airport terminal to the to gate that left for Arkansas, which was scheduled to leave at 8:55pm. But, the flight that was going to take to Arkansas was canceled because of maintenance problems with the airplane. So we were stuck in Memphis for FIVE hours waiting for the next flight to Fayettville. I didn't get much sleep during that period, but I felt relieved when our plane finally arrived. We landed in Arkansas at about 2:30 and then waited another 45 minutes for our ride to pick us up. We got to the hotel with just enough time to get dressed for the meet and then we left. The meet itself was absolutely amazing. I saw Maurice Greene warming up and Stacy Dragila flying over the pole vault bar. It neat just to be around athletes of that caliber. The track was top rate, but couldn't get in the grove of things. As for my race, the pace went out fast at about 2:04 for the first 800, I stayed in the back for most of the race (and really didn't move very much from that position). With three laps to go the leaders began to gap me little bit and I finished in 4:20. The guys in that race were good, and it was an honor to be invited to such a meet. I guess I might have been a tad jetlagged from the trip, but overall it was a good experience. Thanks."
