Nemo Simmons (Diamond Ranch) takes Race two 880

Seeded Boys 880 - Damien Rinaldi was the early leader, with Andrew Dawson (already a 500 under his belt) moving past quickly to come through the 440 at 56. Drew Porter moved up to the front pack, with Rinaldi racing past during the final 160 yard lap to a fine 1:58.2 win.

Damien Rinaldi (Birmingham) takes over after Andrew Dawson set it up (Dawson second here) - Rinaldi raced along to a fine 1:58.1 win - Dawson, earlier a 500 yard winner showed super conditioning this day, finishing in 1:59.0!!!

Liza Pasciuto anchors Murrieta Valley to 4x880 win

Boys 4x160's (Race One) - Moorpark raced in ahead of La Salle (Pasadena) (Race Two) Birmingham and El Rancho were the only entrants - El Rancho fell on the middle of leg two, so it was kind of one-sided for the fine Birmingham group, which eased in to a 1:10.0 win. It appeared that heats were combined after that. Seeded final race appeared to have Servite, Helix, and University City (SD). Deun White took Helix by University City on leg 2 and Uni City stumbled. We believe it was Reggie Bush on the anchor of a very fine 1:05.5 winner.

Boys Two Mile - Mohamed Trafeh (Duarte) went right to the lead--64.5 at the 440, with Manuel Ruiz (Monroe) second and Kellen Acosta (Murrieta 3rd) 2:13.0 at the 880. A pack of six had broken away, Trafeh still leading. 3:25 at the 1320. Ruiz edged up to challenge, but at 4:36 at the mile the duo had broken away. Trafeh continued to lead over Ruiz, with them starting to lap runners. With a lap and a half ago Trafeh really pressed the pace, with Ruiz still a bit of run him him. Trafeh maintained his momentum through a 9:16.3 finish!

Race Two went in 9:27.4 - an added event had Jonathan Cardenas from Reno look good on the way to a 9:27.4 win over Matt Cipola (El Toro) 9:41.5.

Girls HJ - Sharon Day (Costa Mesa) cleared 5-10.25 with Desirae Gonder (Stockdale, Bak) 5-8 in a super competition. Day had the bar put at 6-00, but could not clear.
