Well, it would probably be close between USC and UC Berkeley. See the note below on Arizona State that might make it closer than we first thought between more than just the two mentioned above!! Berkeley signed a class led by San DeSa (Monte Vista, Danville) and Noah Smith (Taft, Woodland Hills), wide receivers with speed to burn! USC has Reggie Bush (Helix, La Mesa), Noah Smith's teammate Steve (Taft, Woodland Hills, a fellow receiver who just missed a state receiving total record despite being too young to play Varsity as a ninth grader otherwise----), the Ting twins from Logan, Union City (Brandon and Ryan), with Chauncey Washington (North Torrance) another flyer! As Marcell Allmond (former St. Paul HS of Santa Fe Springs) football and track star says Coach Pete Carroll at USC told him, "go get lost for a while and get fast in track." With the speed the Trojans flashed on Iowa while winning the Orange Bowl 38-17, with tracksters and former Golden State prep legends Justin Fargas, Kareem Kelly, Sultan McCullough, Darrell Rideaux prominent, one senses the USC group will be encouraged to join Coach Ron Allice's spring track crew. It is hoped the same philosphy will make sense to other football coaches around the Pac 10. Links to Recruuiting Bio's included Arizona State Saw your article on the PAC-10 football signees. Noticed that you left one out for ASU. If JUCO signees are included Chijioke Onyegenecha from City College of San Francisco has I've seen been listed at running a 10.28 100 meters and a 21.26 200 meters. Combined with the 10.8 Rudy Burgess and 10.90 Chad Green would help push ASU closer to USC. Also Daniel Varvel has been listed at running 10.8, whether that's hand held or not is another story. Just thought I'd give you an additional update. Thanks for all the work.
