LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech track and field teams ended their indoor
home schedules in fine fashion Friday night at the Red Raider Invitational
as two Athletic Training Center (ATC) records fell to Red Raiders and
Tech captured two more NCAA qualifying marks.
The men's 1,600-meter relay turned in the second NCAA qualifying mark
of the night as the quartet of Booker, Jason
Lovell (ex-Cleveland HS of Reseda), Johnson and Matt Stewart
posted a provisional qualifying time of 3:09.85. Booker got the race off
to a quick start as he ran the first leg with a split-time of 47.48. Giving
way to Lovell, the Reseda, Calif., ran the fasted leg of the team
with a split of 46.69. Johnson built the Tech lead to over 10
meters before giving way to Stewart in a time of 47.30. The Odessa, Texas,
native put the finishing touches on the race with a split of 48.01.
