ABTFC TO HOLD FINAL ALL-COMERS MEET SATURDAY


The Association Of Black Track & Field Coaches will hold it’s final All-comers Track & Field meet

Saturday at Rancho Cienega Recreation Center inside Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles.This

the third in the series of meets that ABTFC has held. The meets have featured some of the top high

school athletes in the state and country competing unattached. CIF Southern Section 400 Meter

Champion Ashlee Freeman of Wilson High Long Beach, CIF Div.3 100M Champion Carol Rodriguez

of Western High Anaheim, and state Champions Ashlee Brown and Lena Bettis of J.W.North High in

Riverside are among just a few who will be in attendance. “ This Saturday ought to have some very fast

times for an all-Comers meet in January”.says Coach Terry Kennedy of track powerhouse Long Beach

Wilson. “ This is a good time to test where you are against some of the best competition in the state”.

The meet started last year with success and will now finish during Martin Luther King Week. “ The series

ending during MLK week is a positive experience for ABTFC and the athletes that will be

competing”.said Coach Lawrence Webster of Louisville High in Woodland Hills. “For the first time we

are looking for athletes from Stockdale High in the Bakersfield area to compete”.The meet is age

group,highschool,collegiate and open competition.Competiton starts at 10 am.
