Yong-Sung Leal (Arroyo, San Lorenzo) coming back from injury that held him back during spring 2002 Track Season and much of the Fall 2002 Cross-Country Season - Coach Susan Guinee comments on the 2003 season and future

Thanks for the interest in Yong-Sung. Here is an update on his plans for next year. If you have any questions please feel free to talk to him personally or to me. As far as running this year he is hard at work training for an exciting track season. If all goes well he will run at Arcadia and take a shot at regaining his 3200 state title. Thanks Susan Guinee

Yong-Sung Leal graduates from Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo, California, on June 12, 2003. After graduation, his plans are to:
- Do a one-year local church mission while attending Chabot College, a junior college in nearby Hayward, for a year commencing in September, 2003.
- Run independently during that time with his personal coach he's had since grammar school, running in meets and invitationals of his choosing, while protecting his college eligibility by not running on Chabot's teams.
- After a year at Chabot he will then evaluate other college and scholarship options.
- In the meantime, Yong-Sung and his parents are very open to discuss future school and running possibilities with various college coaches throughout California and across the country, who are welcome to contact him at any time.
- The contact information for Yong-Sung and his parents, Bento and Kimiko Leal, is: Email: [email protected].
