10,000' altitude for Cross-Country course - whew!!!

Jennifer Bowles (Calvary Chapel-SS) has moved to Colorado, where she is running for Battle Mountain HS in Colorado, while being home-schooled, as she was in California.  Tough loss for the Golden State, as Jennifer had a super 2004-2005 running year.  We asked her to keep in touch with us on her 2005 CC results from Colorado, with the report below on a challenging (I hope so at 10,000 feet altitude) home course Invitational affair.  How about possible snow at the State meet in late October!!!

Last week was the Beaver Creek Invitational, our homecourse. Lets just say the meet was a little different from what I was used to in California. It was at the base of Beaver Creek Ski Resort at about ten thousand feet elevation. The course continued to curve up the mountain and above the first chairlift and then we would decend downhill, only to cut a turn and do it again. My time was 22:40, a new course record. God is good. The day was beatiful, the trees are now turning orange, yellow, and red. You really get the seasons out here. I heard that its suppose to snow late October. Hopefully not during State which is October 29.
