One of the true blessings of the sport of cross-country in California
these days is when teams take advantage of the beautiful landscape
and altitude conditions to host their own summer camps, lending
for a great situation of aerobic and leg-strength training as well
as a sensational opportunity for team members to bond deeper
friendships. If you're able to go, take enjoy the opportunity!

Saugus HS (SS) at Big Bear in July
We don't think there are many programs getting as powerful as Saugus these days,
with the big reason for their progress being good ole'-fashioned hard work. There
are truly no shortcuts to genuine success in cross-country running and Coach Rene Paragas'
crew has been logging the miles and toughening up for the coming season, where the girls
are among the top squads in the Western United States for 2006 and the boys are aiming
to battle their league and Southern Section counterparts for a bid to the CIF-SS Finals.
Here are four pictures from their recent travels to Big Bear. Thanks to the Centurions!

More coaches from their trip can also be found here!
