The Canyon XC team traveled to Mammoth Lakes
from July 21st to July 30th with 55 runners. The team
ran an assortment of trails from The Bridgeport Twin Lakes area to Lower Rock
Creek over the nine day period
with many runners completing over 100 miles. On the final day, the team ran
their traditional 2.15 mile relay race
at 7500-8000 ft elevation on hilly terrain around Shady Rest Park. Senior
Brenda Cohen finished the race with the
fastest time for the girls with a 14:32. Junior Stephen Kent finished with
the top boys time of 12:32.
After the relay race, the team cooled down with a shaving cream fight and
a slip & slide (to clean off).
