March 1-2, 2002, Armory Track and Field Center, New York City, NY

Donna on the Side at

USA Indoor
Track and Field Championships

by Donna Dye

The Armory was all decked out looking pretty and all lit up to host the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships for 2002. ESPN was there, the professional athletes were there, Marion Jones was there interviewing. While the meet was mainly to identify the National champions, some high school relays were sprinkled in. Those relays provided some excitement that rocked and rolled the place with some serious cheering from fans. Athletes that would normally be on the track were in the stands cheering, shouting, jumping for the high schoolers while also appreciating the athletic prowess of the professional athletes.
