Running Lane

Matt Johnsrud SR-Woodcreek-Matt won the 1600 at 4:11.89. "It was awesome crossing the finish line. I really wanted to win this. I felt really emotional when I did." Right now, Matt is scheduled to attend American River Junior College in Sacramento next year, although he still could go elsewhere if opportunity calls.

1600 winners: (From Left) 6th Liza Pasciuto, 1st Shannon Rowbury, 2nd Jenny Aldridge. Shannon finished with a time of 4:52.77, a nationally ranked time. She has been running since her freshman year and has steadily improved. Next year she will be at Duke University. Jenny finished with a time of 4:55.94. She will be at Arizona State next year. This was a rough race for Liza. She was tripped, spiked and went down. But that did not stop her. She got up and finished 6th. Liza is a sophomore, so she will be back next year.

Shannon Roxbury with Coach Andy Chan. Shannon thinks the world of Andy and attributes much of her success to him. Likewise, Andy thinks the world of Shannon and presented Shannon with a goodbye CD of songs that signify her high school career. More 1600 winners: 3rd place Lauren Mulkey (l) and 4th place Lindsay Allen

Jamillah Titus SR Vintage-Jamillah won the 800 with a time of 2:09.62. She will be at San Diego State next year.
Duane Solomon JR-Cabrillo with his Coach, Peter Anderson. Duane was 2nd in the 800. Duane also earned the Sportsmanship-Citizenship Honoree medal.
Carl Dambkowski SR-Granada-Carl was edged out of winning the 3200 and came in 2nd in a close finish. Carl will be at Stanford next year.
Shalonda Solomon SO Long Beach Poly. Shalonda was 2nd in the 100. One of these days she thinks she'll finish first. That is a bit difficult with Allyson Felix running the same race. But she got her satisfaction with big wins for Poly in both relays.

Matt Bruno SR Trabuco Hills with Coaches Steve Miller (l) and
Mark Royster. Matt had quite a day winning both the 100 and 200.

Thomas Mack JR Bakersfield-Thomas won the 110 Hurdles and the 300 Hurdles. He also won the Sportsmanship-Citizen Honoree medal.
Ashley Brown JR JW North-Ashley won the 300 hurdles.
