ENTRY LIMITATION: (maximum 4 events per athlete)
 -1 entry for Relays
 - unlimited entries for Individual events
You may wish to take the following into account while organizing your entries. It is the general
opinion of many visiting coaches to Rim that due to the altitude (5,600 ft.) you get a maximum
of two quality performances from an athlete in the middle to long distance races.
ENTRY DEADLINE: All entries must be completed on-line to ezmeets.com by Tuesday, April 10.
You must email Don Chadez at [email protected] for a password. Then go to the ez-meets.com web
site and enter your entries. If a change or add is needed we will attempt to take care of it at the event
site on meet day. Please do not call ahead for changes.
ENTRY QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: Please submit this year's best mark. BE ACCURATE!!!
DO NOT ESTIMATE!!! If an athlete is coming off an injury, don't put down an unrealistic time from the
beginning of the season that you know they will not achieve. This will mess up the heats and hurt other athletes.
AWARDS: Medals for: 1st - 5th place in individual events and relays

Medals will be awarded at the award stand in the center of the field. Running event athletes will be
escorted as a group to the stand. Field event participants should remain at the event site to see if they've
placed and at that point they will be escorted (as a group) to the awards stand.

For security reasons, as in CIF, athletes WILL NOT be allowed to exit the facility and then return.
Any athlete who does will be charged for admission.
UNIFORM TOPS: CIF allows meet management to require uniform tops to be tucked in.
Due to this meet being a class act we have chosen this option. Also note there are no
dressing facilities available.
PROTECTION ISSUES FOR COMPETING IN THE MOUNTAINS: Please make your
athletes aware of the potential temperature extremes in the mountains. The early morning and
early evening has the potential to be cool. Please advise your athletes to bring warm clothing,
head protection, and light gloves. Late morning to early afternoon has the potential to be warm
and bright. Please advise the athletes to bring sunglasses and sunscreen protection. Particular
concern on an average day is for the strong sun, with cool temperatures, which can easily lead
to serious sunburns.
WEATHER CANCELATION: Please remember that the weather on the mountain is a wild
card and part of the adventure of this meet. Taking that into account, we will not run the meet
in the event of a wet fog or rain
at Rim but will move the meet to

NO NEEDLE SPIKES! Spikes will be available for sale.
WARM-UPS: All warm-ups will be done on the baseball field on the west end of the facility or

being thrown on this level. Athletes are asked not to do any type of warm-up on the track or infield.
CLERK OF THE COURSE: Will be located on the bleachers near the tennis courts. Athletes are
asked to be at the clerk by the second call. Athletes will be placed in order of heat and lane by the
clerk and be escorted to the starting line.
SCRATCHES AND SUBSTITUTIONS: There is no scratch meeting. We ask that your athletes
who will be substituting report directly to the clerk and inform them of the substitution. It is critical
that the athlete tells the clerk that they are a substitution and provides an accurate time for seeding
purposes. Your athlete will be placed into a heat with other athletes of their ability. There are no
adds.
100m: All races are finals.
200m: All races are finals.
400m: All races are finals. No starting blocks will be allowed although meet management may allow
blocks, at the last minute, if the meet is running ahead of time. The clerk of the course may place one
or two slower athletes behind another to eliminate a small heat.
800m: One turn alleys to be used for the start.
1600m, 3200m: A normal waterfall start will be utilized with the potential use of a four-lane, single
turn alley, starting in lane 5.
Mile High Run: This will be a special "feature" event for your girls/boys varsity being a measured
mile run on the metric track. Enter your athlete's 1600 time for seating purposes.
100m, 110m, and 300m Hurdles: All races are finals.
4 X 100m Relay: All races are finals. Athletes will report to the clerk, and then to their respective
starting position being the start line or exchange zone. Relay teams will not report to the starting

athletes to confirm their lane, heat, and zones before leaving the clerk to eliminate any potential
confusion.
4 X 400m Relay: All races are finals. No starting blocks will be used but meet management may
allow blocks if the meet is running ahead of time. Please note that a THREE-TURN STAGGER
is used where the first exchange is completed in lanes and the outgoing number 2 runner will maintain
in his/her lane until reaching the break line at the end of the first turn. The first exchange zone is
different than a normal 4 X 400 relay in that the zones are staggered and set toward the starting
line from your normal 4 X 400 exchange. The second and third exchange is similar as in most high
school tracks and all the 4 X 400 exchange zones are marked with a blue triangle.
Javelin. Has been canceled for 2007.
Discus: In the discus, your athletes will provide their own implements, and it is asked that during
warm-ups, throwing will be limited from the ring only and under the supervision of the discus official.
There will be no prelims, and all flights will be announced on sight. Three throws will be allowed, with
the furthest mark being measured. A fourth throw may be allowed if the head official determines there
is enough time.
Long and Triple Jump: Maximum spike length of 3/16inch. This event will run on a tight time schedule
with specified times for check
in/warm up and participation. Each
athlete will be allowed a maximum of
three jumps. If an athlete is unable to complete his three jumps due to time running out or participating in
another event, there will be no possibility for makeups. The event will be done in a cafeteria style with the
athletes lining up at the end of the runway and starting their event as directed by the head official. No time
limits will be allowed and it is anticipated as athletes are instructed to start, they will begin their jump
immediately. The flag marks listed below must be obtained for the jump to be measured. If an athlete does
not jump beyond the flag mark, that jump will not be measured. Each athlete has the right to have their final
jump measured in the event they do not clear the flags. For the younger athletes, the regulation triple jump
boards could be used, or a closer board will be available to assist your triple jumpers who feel they cannot
reach the pit.
Athletes are asked to maintain their gear and to wait for their jumps on the side of the long jump runways
toward the inside of the football field, as to not interfere with the pole vault. Athletes are allowed to use a
piece of athletic tape as a marker, placed on the concrete next to the runway. No marks may be placed on
