You are receiving this packet of information regarding your entry in this years Mt. Carmel XC Invitational.With some new additions to the meet we ask you to read completely the attached information.Additional info (course maps, time schedules, lodging, etc) is located on the meet website at www.bigguytf.com.

 

New additions to this years meet is bar coded results and on site meet coverage by dyestat.com.With approximately 80 schools competing we are expecting good competition from about 2000 athletes on the beautiful Morley Field course.If you have outstanding runners returning this year and you know they will be competing please fill out the �Outstanding Runners� page in this packet and we will try to get them some publicity

Re:Entering your runners in the meet on September 16th

 

Hi Coaches,

 

������ Well, everyone has been asking me to go to computerized results the last few years, so here we go.

������ We will go to bar codes and computerized results this year with the goal to have the results up on the web the night of the meet.Now you as coaches will have to co-operate.This first year we will do a lot of reminding by e-mail and phone so everyone gets it.One of the good things about our meet in the early season has been its simplicity and we are trying to maintain that yet at the same time improve it.

 

������ To enter your team in the meet you will need to register your entrants on www.athletic.net.For San Diego section coaches this also will be the site used for our Section Championships so when you enter your team you are also doing some early registration for the section meet.

 

������ Go to the www.athletic.net , register your school and yourself. Most San Diego Section schools used athletic.net for track last season. If so you�ll be able to add the cross country season from your track site. If you�re new to athletic.net there are instructions on the site. If you are from out of state, no problem, the entire country is covered. Once registered, edit your calendar to include a meet in San Diego on September 16th. Mt. Carmel will be one of the choices that will come up.

 

The next step is to get your runners in the database. You can do this from either the �Edit Athletes� page or you can go directly to the meet by pressing the EDIT button for the Mt. Carmel meet on the Calendar page. If you choose this method select �Athlete Registration� at the top of the page. In either case there are two steps:

1. First you must enter runners into your roster.

2. Second you must register them into the meet.

If you are going to use athletic.net for just this meet there�s no reason to enter your entire roster. However, Athletic.net will be used to register for other meets so you might as well have your roster available for entry.

 

Once your roster (or the kids who will run Mt. Carmel) is in the database you can enter you can enter them into the meet from the Meet Registration page (see above). Just click on each person and select the appropriate division he/she will be running. Once you have selected who will be in the meet be sure you press the �Save Registrations� button at the top of the page. If you don�t, you�ll have to do it all over again.

 

From that information we can create barcodes for your school and athletes.

 

Some points of emphasis:

 

Try to register your team on the site by September 1st.We will be taking rosters of who is competing all the way up till Wednesday September 13 at 12 Noon.

 

 

Please register only the athletes you think will compete.If you have a squad of 55 but are only bringing 10 please enter only who you are bringing. You can have all 55 on your roster but only register the ones into the meet who will be there as we have to create bar codes for everyone registered for the event.

 

Please e-mail or call early if you have questions, don�t wait to the last minute. While it is a new part to the meet we want you to be able to do this and help us and your athletes.

Information on Entries and Entry Fee

Please bring your check with you the day of the race.

 

.        Place an X in the space if you have 5 or more runners in that race. (5+ equals a team)

.        If you have less than 5 runners in a race, write the number you have participating.

.        Every team that you have will be $30.

.        Add your number if individual runners up and multiply them by $6.

.        The total of the two is your entry fee.
