3rd Annual Skyline Distance Scrimmage

Thursday, March 30, 2006

Skyline High School

* Distance Racing Under The Lights With Music*

What More Could You Ask For?!

Hello Coaches,

On Thursday, March 30, the Skyline High School Track & Field team will be having its 3rd Annual Skyline Distance Scrimmage at Skyline High School in Oakland. The scrimmage is designed for the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m athletes who may not have yet reached the deep standard times of the invitationals that will be going on this time of year (but, if you like, you can run your faster athletes as well). It will be a scrimmage so there will be NO official times kept.Coaches will be asked to keep their own times of their own athletes during their respective races. There is no cost for the events.Uniforms are not required for the scrimmage but are allowed.

There are a couple of changes regarding the schedule.First, we moved the scrimmage from the traditional Friday in order to comply with the schools that compete at the Stanford Invitational, which has been moved a week later than last year.Second, this year we will be running under the lights for the first time!

As we did last year, a disc jockey will be provided to play music during the events and will be taking requests from both the athletes and the coaches.

The scrimmage will be run as follows:

6:30 1600 Girls

6:40 1600 Boys

6:50 800 Girls

6:55 800 Boys

7:00 3200 Girls

7:20 3200 Boys

This schedule will change based on the number of "entries". If we get a lot of "entries", there will be "heats" for the events based on the "entry times".

If you would like to scrimmage, please e-mail me at [email protected] with your "entries" by Sunday, March 26.

Please list your entries as such:

Last Name, First Name, Gender, Grade, Event, Time

For example:

Williams, Chris, M, 12, 1600, 5:57

Send as many athletes as you like and have them run as many events as you like. Last year 11 schools and over 140 entrants participated and it was a lot of fun. Here is a list of schools that have participated over the last couple of years:

Alameda

Albany

Castlemont

Concord

De La Salle

George Washington

Head Royce

Oakland High

Oakland Technical

St. Joseph Notre Dame

San Lorenzo

Skyline

We hope to see you there!
