I just wanted to let you know the status of the Kamehameha-Oahu and Kamehameha-Hawaii Cross Country Invitationals for this fall.

My wife Elizabeth and I relocated to the Big Island of Hawaii to teach at the new Kamehameha-Hawaii campus this past fall and started developing a cross country program. I had forgotton what it is like to start from scratch! This fall, we will be hosting our first invitational

On September 17th on our campus just outside of Hilo. We will have the same format as with the invitational that we ran on the Oahu campus, (no entry fee, a meal after the race, Hawaiian music, great awards, t-shirts, etc). Our campus is located within driving idstance of the flowing lava of Kilauea Volcano and Volcano National Park. Our course will be 99% grass, dirt, and finely crushed gravel. The terrain is rolling. The course will be fast. The first few Smaller teams that are interested may be able to be accomodated on campus.

As for the Kamehameha-Oahu Invitational, it should be on the first Saturday of October as usual. The contact people for that are Athletic Director
