North Monterey County Cross Country

    Come join us in our eleventh presentation of the Earlybird Invitational. This edition will be the biggest and greatest ever! The invitational offers a superb spectator and competitive course of 3 miles on grass, hilly dirt roads, and track on the campus of North Monterey County High School in Castroville. Over 50 teams are expected to kick off their 2005 seasons. Located just 15 miles north of Monterey, the high school is a mile off of Hwy. 156 on Castroville Blvd. 

SCHEDULE:
Boys Freshman Race (no limit on entries) 9:00 A.M.
Girls Frosh/Soph Race (no limit on entries) 9:30 A.M.
Boys Sophomore Race (no limit on entries) 10:00 A.M.
Boys Junior Race (no limit on entries) 10:30 A.M.
Girls Varsity Race (limited to 7 runners per school) 11:00 A.M.
Boys Senior Race (no limit on entries 11:30 A.M.
Girls JV Race (no limit on entries)) 12:00 P.M.

NOTE: The Girls Varsity team must be composed of your top 5 runners, (with the exception of Freshmen and Sophomore girls, who can run in any race), and you must enter a Girls Varsity team (5 runners) before you can enter a JV team. Boys can run only in the races of their grade level.

SCORING: The top 5 finishers in each race will count toward the team score. The 6th and 7th finishers will displace. No runners past the 7th team finisher will be counted in the team scoring. The Overall Team Champion will be scored as follows: 1st=10 pts., 2nd=8 pts., 3rd=6 pts., 4th=4 pts., 5th=2 pts.

AWARDS: Plaque for winning team in each race. Medals to first 7 members of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Medals to top 10 runners not on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place team in each race. Award for first place finisher in each race. Plaque for Overall Team Champion.

OTHER: There will be a snack shack and vendors. T-shirts will be on sale.
