A DISTANCE RUNNERS’ FESTIVAL
Contra Loma Regional Park, Antioch – CA

The Contra Loma Classic is an early bird invitational intended to bring high school cross country teams together early on in the season so they can get to run a challenging and fun course to kick off the great sport of XC! Contra Loma Regional Park (EBRPD) is located in Antioch, just off of Lone Tree Way – connector street between Antioch and Brentwood.

This meeting place is ideal where Bay Area, NCS, as well as far away teams in the California Central Valley can compete. All races for the day are run on a 2.05 mile challenging-rolly-hilly course (first 1/4 mile is flat). The area is very scenic, and it is a great spectators course ( 90% view-able & 100% viewable from atop Varsity Hill !) & it is a good season starter invite!

There will be plenty of fine custom medals and trophies. Contra Loma has hundreds of picnic tables and grass space to choose from as well as plenty of restroom facilities in the area for your day picnic use. AND - There will be CLC custom-designer T-shirts on sale too.

Both starting/finish areas (separate from each other) for the CLC are also near the new beach front lagoon of Contra Loma Reservoir. There is plenty of parking for personal vehicles and busses. Tell your kids to bring towels for the swim area for a cool dip after the race!

IF YOU ARE COMING EAST FROM THE BAY AREA, PLEASE HAVE AMPLE TIME FOR TRAFFIC. SR-4 IN PITTSBURG BOTTLE-NECK STARTING AROUND 2:30PM. SO IF YOU ARE COMING FROM OAKLAND, LEAVE AROUND 1PM. CALL COACH AMOROSA FOR MORE DETAILS ON TRAFFIC CONDITIONS IN THIS AREA AND OTHER SUGGESTED DEPARTURE TIMES.

THE SEVENTH ANNUAL CLC XC EVENT WILL BE BETTER AND BIGGER THAN EVER THIS YEAR! WE ARE MOVING THE DATE BACK TO Wednesday DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING DEMAND FOR THE EVENT AND THE AMOUNT OF TEAMS IN THE LAST FEW YEARS.

THE COURSE AND FACILITIES ARE TOP-RATED TO RUN A PROFESSIONAL XC INVITATIONAL! WE HAVE HOSTED NUMEROUS LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN RECENT YEARS AS WELL! WE HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US OUT AT CONTRA LOMA THIS FALL. WE WILL HAVE CUSTOM AWARDS AND MEDALS AS ALWAYS, AS WELL AS MANY OTHER GOODIES.
