January 31, 2004 Dear Coach:
In addition to the individual events, we will be running a co-ed 4x400 relay. Your relay team must consist of two boys and two girls - each runner must have participated in one of the individual races earlier in the meet. Order of the legs will be girl-girl-boy-boy. As an added bonus, we will have a coaches mile and one or two other surprises. The meet will be held on Saturday, March 13th on the all-weather track at Piedmont High School. If past D Fests are any indication, this will be an excellent opportunity for your kids to post some good early season times. Custom T-shirts will be awarded to the top two runners in each heat (top 4 in the fast heat). Members of the top three relay teams will also receive T-shirts. The entry fee is $5.00 per athlete ($8.00 for each athlete you enter in more than one individual event). Heats will be seeded by athletes’ PRs and/or coach’s estimated time. So please be as accurate as you can with times you submit as we would like to have all the heats be competitive. Enclosed are an approximate time schedule and entry procedures. Please note that entries and entry fees must be received by March 5th. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at 510-653-4692 or e-mail me at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you. Best of luck this season! Doyle O’Regan
