May 7th - 2nd Annual Gold Rush Elite Invitational - Small School Championship-Style Meet

Announcing the Second annual Gold Rush Elite Invitational
A Small School Championship-Style Meet

What: A small school (Divisions III, IV, &V) championship style meet for schools in the Northern California. Twelve (12) athletes will qualify by times and marks in each event. A standard order of events will be followed with the addition of the 4 x 800m Relay to begin the meet. An emphasis will be put on team scoring with eight (8) places scoring in each event. This year we have added a select number of J.V. events which will be non-scoring events. FAT timing will be used. Coaches will FAX or e-mail updated marks after initially entering their top athletes on a standard entry form in mid April. Coaches will be able to check their athlete’s status through a website devoted to the meet at www.goldrushelite.com

When: Friday, May 7th
Field Events begin at 4:00 PM
Track Events begin at 4:00 PM

Where: Calaveras High School, San Andreas, CA

Awards: Top 4 placers in each event and top two relay teams medal.
Top two teams in the boys and girls divisions receive trophies and a top program award will be given to the school receiving the highest point total when combining the boy’s team score with the girls team score from the same high school. We hope to have a special award for the boys and girls outstanding performance in the track and field events.

Cost: $5.00/ qualifying athlete and $10.00/ qualifying relay

Interest: If this meet sounds like an event your school would want to participate in, or you have questions, please contact me (Doug Avrit), at my e-mail address: [email protected] and I will be sure to mail you the necessary entry forms and information in early March. I look forward to hearing from you and having your school become part of a Small School tradition.
