Motorcycle accident claims life of Esperanza HS alum Ryan Bousquet

We regrettably learned this afternoon that Esperanza HS Class of 2000 alum and Esperanza HS assistant coach Ryan Bousquet was involved in an early morning motorcycle accident on the streets of Orange County last week which claimed the life of the outgoing 25-year-old. According to his high school coach at Esperanza, Rich Medellin, Ryan recently purchased his first motorcycle and the accident apparently occurred when Ryan was unable to negotiate a tight turn.
Bousquet, who was born in Fullerton, placed second in the mile at the 2000 outdoor nationals before attending Arizona State and
was part of an exceptional group of California male distance runners that year which also included Ryan Hall, Fernando Cabada and
Josh Spiker.
Please keep Ryan's family and the entire Esperanza HS running family in your thoughts and prayers during this very tough time.
