‘The rock’ of Dos Pueblos Track & Field '

Former Dos Pueblos track and field coach Gordon McClenathen stands next to a plaque honoring
his 30 years of service, from 1967 to 1997. Past and present athletes and coaches from as far as
Hawaii and Kentucky came to Saturday’s celebration at DP to acknowledge McClenathen’s outstanding
coaching throughout the years. The plaque, adjacent to the school’s track, reads: “Coach Gordon
McClenathen / The rock upon which DP Cross Country and Track & Field was built. / 1967-1997”.
