Cory Primm (Westlake HS) ran yet another sub-1:50, Castilleja's Tori Anthony
overcame winds in the pole vault, Ke'Nyia Richardson flew in
the TJ as did ex-CA prep Zuheir Sharif! All four won to advance to the
PanAm Junior Champs in Brazil, making it 10 Californians thus far!

Hercules HS star Jamesha Youngblood (above) soars to 20-08.50 LJ win! In Seniors (adult) division,
Ke'Nyia Richardson bounds 44-4.0 (#2 A-T) to place 6th against world-class types! Ex-CA HSers
Shana Woods (hep), Nicole Blood (3k) and Darius Savage (DT) also win. UCLA's Nick Robinson
and Washington's Scott Roth (both CA ex-preps) each placed second to earn bids to Brazil! The winner
in Juniors advances to the Pan Am Junior Championships in Brazil, along with select 2nd-placers

How They Choose Team USA members for Brazil...


The 2007 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships will serve as
the selection meet for the 2007 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships.

It is planned that one athlete will be selected for each event, except for the following events,
where up to two athletes may be selected: men's & Women's 100m, men's & women's 200m,
men's & women's 400m, men's 110m Hurdles, women's 100m Hurdles, men's & women's
400m Hurdles, men's Shot Put, men's & women's Pole Vault, and men's Long Jump.

Procedures:
1. Athletes will select themselves based on rank order of finish in the final of their event
at the 2007 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
2. Athletes must have met the qualifying standards during the 2007 Outdoor Season.
3. Athletes MUST have a valid passport with them at the USA Junior Outdoor
Track & Field Championships with an expiration date of at least January 2008 in order
to be considered for selection to the team. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Long Beach Poly's Bryshon Nellum captures his biggest award yet
by being named the 2006-07 Gatorade National Boys Track & Field
Performer of the Year in an announcement made at this week's
USATF Junior Nationals meet in Indianapolis. Bryshon helps continue
a streak of California dominance in the program, becoming the 22nd
Golden State winner out of 44 recipients in the award's history. The
state of Texas is next best with eight winners in the history of the award.

LA84 Cross-Country Coaches Clinic A Success!

A total of 131 coaches turned out for the LA84 (formerly AAF) Cross-Country Coaches Clinic
at Mt. SAC on Saturday, June 16th. Among the presenters were (l-to-r) Torrey Pines' Brent Thorne,
Saugus' Rene Paragas and former Ventura coach Bill Tokar. The next clinic will be on July 14 at
Mt. SAC and will be featuring the 2008 US Olympic Coach Joe Vigil, Pat Tyson and Dan Green.
