Here we go again!!! Madera High's boys, who have pretty much taken over
on the Central Section/Valley scene in recent seasons, enjoyed a fine twilight
showing at the season-opening Buchanan Distance Carnival on Friday night.
Above, Isai Orea is the newest "stamina star" for the blue crew, ripping a
fine 9:51 to win the frosh/soph 3200m by a large margin! Madera shined overall!

Did you hear the one about the Collegiate Freshman
who came out for track and jumped seven feet in practice.
In his first meet with two days practice, jumping in running flats
and wearing baggy shorts he cleared 7-03.25 in his first meet ever!!
Donald Thomas - native of Bahamas - plays JV Basketball at
Lindenwood University in Missouri (but may have future in track)
