Ebony Collins sets meet record to win 400m LH gold and
Bryshon Nellum balzes to win bronze in 400m from lane 1!

Summary: Collins' time also a 10th grade US record! David Klech wins 400m IH heat in 51.84 and follows
up 90 minutes later with a ninth in the LJ at 23-06w (+2.6 mps). Desirae Gonder gets 12th in HJ Finals;
Scott Roth qualifies for Pole Vault final in 15-09; Darius Savage competes in Discus preliminaries

Ebony Collins gains the silver medal in 100m (11.44) and then mines gold in the 400m LH (55.96).
Her hurdles time is also #3 HS all-time (Leslie Maxie if Woodside HS ran a world youth record 55.20
in the U.S. Olympic trials in 1984 and Lashinda Demus of LB Wilson, who ran 55.76 in 2001.

Collins: "I really pleased myself during the race. I expected to run just below 56 seconds. I made sure I had
a clear view. As I run the 100m, I figured that I would have more speed than the others. I was hoping to have
someone next to me who would be able to push me in the last 250m. I really had to push myself in the end".

IAAF Race description: "Collins took gold in a championship record and
year-leading mark of 55.96 with a masterful display of hurdling."

Boys 400: Zach Chandy 4th in 47.29 PR and Bryshon Nellum 3rd in lane 1 in 46.81 PR

Nellum: "Lane 1 takes a lot of energy. I passed the 1st curve very comfortably, changed gear while in
2nd and was 4th while entering the homestraight. It's very exciting to bring a new medal to Team USA".
Chandy: "I had a great time and surprised that I made the top four. I was happy just making the finals."
