National Cross Country Team Championship!

It very well looks like team members from schools such as Don Lugo and Royal
and a plethora of California girls talent could have a chance to locks horns w/ America's best!

By John Dye
After months of discussions and meetings, plans for a national high school cross country team championship sponsored by Nike are starting to jell. Here are the major features:
  • An invitational event to be called the Nike Team Nationals
  • Date and place to be determined, but will not conflict with Foot Locker individual national finals.
  • 20 teams invited to the boys and girls championship races.
  • Teams selected by a national committee -- two teams from each of eight regions plus four at large teams.
  • Regional rankings published weekly on DyeStat and DyeStatCal.
  • Team travel expenses paid by Nike.
  • Teams to run as USATF registered clubs, but all runners must attend the same school.

More details coming!
