Dear Colleagues (especially WVAL coaches who are hosting the Girls Long Jump).

Thanks to the diligence of Mike Raggett who found a BIG error in the semifinal time schedule, I am sending you this corrected schedule.  The event in error was the Girls Long Jump at the semifinals which should be at 5:30 (not 7:30 as originally published).  I have corrected the schedule on the website but the original hardcopy PIB was sent out in the mail in April and may be circulating on your campuses.  Please insure that the coaches and athletes involved are informed!  A special attention to the WVAL coaches who will be officiating the event.  Thank you Mike….I owe you!

Steve

Dear Track & Field League Representatives,

With the CCS Track & Field Championships 10 days away, and knowing that many of you are working with your league colleagues in coordinating responsibilities for the CCS meet, I thought I would take a second to review our needs for the meet.

All officials(except for the hurdle crew)  will be provided with credentials allowing them access to the field.  They will also be provided with a CCS hat (as long as supplies last) and a meal ticket that can be redeemed at the concession stand.  The chart below indicates which league is responsible for each field event and the recommended number of people to run the event efficiently.  Also listed below is copy of the meet schedule.  By NFHS, CIF and CCS rules, the official needs to be present during the warm-up for the event.  Therefore, it is important for the official to be present 45-60 minutes before the scheduled start of the event.  The members of the hurdle crew will be provided with wristbands allowing them access to the track immediately before, during and immediately after the hurdle races.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call meALSO….please, please…please email me with the names of the people who will be working the assigned event.  I will be putting their names on the gate list so they can get in the meet hassle free!  This will not be necessary for the hurdle crew, but it would be extremely helpful for the “turn judge/inspectors”.
