30th Gunn Reunion Committee Minutes - 11/12/02

Attendees : Hank, Vicki and a surprise guest... Jeff Schwartz Discussion: We tried to cover the Reunion but with all of Jeff's great stories on "Burning Man" it was tough to stay focussed. Jeff: was recruited to try and get John Place to get a band for the Reunion. Johns e-mail is... [email protected] 650 962-1262 there is $1000 budget for the band (+/- of course). New Date: Is set for June 28th because that's when the Stanford Faculty Club was available. Place: Stanford Faculty Club (oh yeah, I already said that) Ben: Got great low-down on the club's facility and food. Hank: Will contact the other class ('71-75) coordinators to let them know about the class picnic to be held on Gunn Campus on June 29th. NOTE: We still need someone to check with Gunn on the date and see if it's OK. Vicki: Was going to call the Rengstorff House as a backup but I guess she no longer needs to do that. Price: Will be kept at $65 a head or less. Hank: Send out mass e-mail to class about Date change and location by Dec 10th. Albert: Will meet with Stanford Faculty Club (along with anyone else that wants to join him) at 1:00 on either 11/26 or 12/3... which one Albert? Respecfully, Hank

30th Gunn Reunion Committee Minutes - 10/15/02

Attendance: Hank Lawson, Ben Loenber, Vicki Purchase $'s - Spent $100 on Post Card mailing to the entire mailing list ($315 in bank) Lost Alums: 41 folks moved since 5 years ago, Hank to get Vicki the returned postcards and she will see what she can do to locate them. Hank will also email the master list to Vicki. 30 yr Date: We're looking at Aug 16&17, 2003 as our 1st choice and Aug 19&20 as our 2nd. Typical dinner/dance on Sat and picnic at Gunn HS on Sun. We don't want a 'stuffy' place for the dinner/dance... with that being said... Locations: Stanford Faculty Club (Ben to investigate) McCarther Park (Vicki) Alpine Inn ('Zots) (Vicki) others... ? Identify location by Dec 1st, 2002 Picnic: We'd like to do at Gunn (good feedcback from class of '72 that did this) and invite folks from classes of '71 thru '75 thus all our possible fellow schoolmates could be there for a reunion. We will get the word out to the other organizing committees. Next up: Meeting on Tue, Nov 12th, 2002 at Tied House 12:15 Mailing on Feb 14th to alumni with the invitation.

30th Gunn Reunion Committee Minutes - 01/24/02

It was great seeing everyone again. Here are the minutes, the way I remember anyway, with some of my embellishments... Called to order (which means we ordered our food) at 11:45 Present: Hank Lawson, Ben Loebner, Patrice Ventresca, Vicki Purchase (did I spell everyone correctly?) Hoping for Jane Gee (Alhouse) & Dave Bendigeit (I know I misspelled this one) Note: Jane sent an e-mail saying she might not make it which I didn't see until I got back from lunch - but she's up for it. Financial Status: about $415.00 in the bank earning the going rate :( Master Address List: Both Patrice & Vicki will send Hank the list that they have to date. Patrice thinks Geoff Creighton might have the most up-do-date list so she will contact him and have Geoff send Hank his list and comments he (Geoff) has on its 'Masterness'. It was also thought that Kitzi H (I'm not even going to try) might have a Master list so Hank will contact her for a copy. When all is said and done... Hank will become the new keeper of the Master list (unless someone else wants to do it) and will add a column for e-mail address(es). Since Hank is the maintainer of the Gunn Alumni web page... it makes sense that he keep the Master list since he is most likely to get address changes being the web-master. Mass Mailing: Will be done in the late Feb/early March time frame in order to find out what addresses are still good and which need to be researched. It will be a postcard and will have the following information: - Gunn Alumni Web Page address (http://pw2.netcom.com/~hanklaw/WEBPAGES/GUNN/gunnhome.htm) - Please send back your e-mail address if it's not on the Alumni Page - Please REPLY to the e-mail so we know that you did get it - Save the weekends of Aug 9, 16 & 23 - 2003 for the reunion (do you have a preference) - Can you suggest any alternate weekends that you think might work better? - Can you volunteer to help plan: Party Picnic Track People down Entertainment Handle $'s Food/Location - Go thru the Gunn Page and see if you know where any of the missing folks are - Cost willing to pay (committee thought $50-$75) We hope to do most of our communications thru e-mail and the web site in order to save $'s. If we have a good e-mail address on people, they will NOT be getting a mailer via US mail. Locations: It was thought that the best idea would be a party (adult) for the alumni and then a picnic the next day for families was the best idea. Patrice will look into Congress Springs Winery, Ben at the Stanford Faculty Club and Vicki into additional hotels and resturants to get an idea on cost and availability. It was also noted that if alums have any friends from other classes ('72 or '74) that they would like to invite, that this should be made known to be a good idea - the party is only as good as the people that attend. We should also look into getting a 1 day insurance writter off of a policy... this will be looked at later as we finalize plans in the future. Volunteers: The following people will be contacted by those in "()" to see if they want to help now: Howard Baldwin (Vicki) Mike McGovern (Ben) Geoff Creighton (Patrice) Kitzi H (Hank) Al Cuisinot (Jane) Doug Winslow (Vicki) Heidi Stern (Hank) she e-mailed me saying she was interested in helping Misc Notes: To locate people, use WWW.WHOWHERE.COM Cell Phones: Hank (408) 506-6714 Vicki (510) 517-0227 Patrice (408) 210-3380 Ben (650) 823-3464 Meeting (and lunch) over at 1:20
