Zach Smith 23-4.5
Zach Smith (Flying AJ’s/Kentlake, Kent, Wa.) first round jump of 23-1 ¾ was good enough for the win but he improved to 23-4 ½ in the final round to move into ninth on the yearly list. Chase Wheeler (Spartan/De La Salle, Concord, Ca.) fouled on his first attempt before jumping 22-6 ¾ in the second that was good enough for second although he improved to 23-0 in the fifth round. Geraldo Hiwat (YMCA Team Idaho/Capital, Boise, Id.) jumped 22-8 in the first round and that was good for third place. Thomas Hartwell (Flying AJ’s/Riverside, Auburn, Wa.) was fourth at 22-1.

Karynn Dunn (Socal. Cheetahs/Diamond Ranch, Pomona, Ca.) had the winning jump of 19-9 ¾ in the first round to move to third on the national list. She also had jumps of 19-5 ½ and 19-1 ¼. Andrea Geubelle (Flying AJ’s/Curtis, Tacoma, Wa.) finished second with a second-round jump of 18-11 ½. Rebecca Neville (unat) was third at 18-8 ¼ and Jill MacEachen (Calgary Warriors/Canada) was forth at 18-2 ¼.

Fourteen jumpers bettered 21-0 to advance to the final. Zach Smith (Flying AJ’s/Kentlake, Kent, Wa.), who jumped 23-10 ¾ last summer, Geraldo Hiwat (YMCA Team Idaho/Capital, Boise, Id.), Chase Wheeler (Spartan/De La Salle, Concord, Ca.), Kasen Covington (YMCA Team Idaho) and Omar Craddock (Team Corps/Milburn Academy, Killeen, Tx.) all advanced and bests of 23-0 or better. .
Girls
Twenty-one jumpers bettered 16-9 to advance to the final. Karynn Dunn (Socal. Cheetahs/Diamond Ranch, Pomona, Ca.), who had a best of 20-2 last year, was just one of nine jumpers who entered the field with a best of at least 18-6 and advanced. Others who advanced that have jumped over 19-0 include, Andrea Geubelle (Flying AJ’s/Curtis, Tacoma, Wa.), Ciarra Brewer (James Logan, Union City, Ca.), Ashtynn Baltimore (Socal.
