Young Men

Finals

200 Meters

Fuquawn Greene of New Bern (N.C./Track Eastern Carolina),  running in lane six, did not miss a step leading from the start and running 21.52 into a 1.5 meter per second wind for the win. Greene had set a personal best of 21.08 in the preliminaries. Matthew Terrell of Davis (Indianapolis, In./Indiana Storm) passed Isaac Provitt of Rich Central (Olympia Fields, Il./O.F.F.) in the last 10 meters to grab second, 21.70 to 21.79. Kevin Hobson of Sequin Tx./Hallmark) was fourth at 21.81 in a race that featured a number of place changes.

 

800 Meters

Benjamin Schmitz of KC Flyers (Kansas City, Mo. ), Jodale Burkley of  Skyline (Dallas, Tx./Texas Stars) and Antonio Palmer of Gaithersburg, Md./ Firebirds Athletics) were together at 200, passed in 26.0. Moise Frish of Whilmer (Toledo, Oh.) joined the trio and along with Schmitz passed 400 in 53.8. Frisch and Schmitz separated from the field but then were joined buy Anthony Hendrix of New Bern (N.C./Track Eastern Carolina) with Frisch clocking 1:23.0 at 600. Hendrix then took over and went on to win in 1:52.69. Frish held on to finish second in 1:52.95. Eric Gosset of Warren (San Antonio, Tx./ Texas Stars) passed Burkley for third, 1:53.00 to 1:53.63.

 

High Jump

Marquis Mack of Booker (Sarasota, Fl./Florida Express), Maurice Valentine of Castro Valley (Ca./Oakland PAL), Tyler Campbell of Cordova (Al./Hoover Parks and Recreation) and Brandon Childs of Emporia (Ka./Emporia TC) all cleared  6-10 ¾ and finished in that order based on number of misses at lower heights. The first four finishers had bests of 7-0 or better.

110-Meter High Hurdles

Heat Winners Plus Next Three Fastest Qualify For Final

     HEAT ONE (-1.2)—Cameron LaCour of Atascocito (Humble,Tx./Track Houston) and Lamarr Pottinger of North Shore Breeze (Tx.) were out well but it was LaCour who gained an easy win in  14.12. Pottinger finished fourth in 14.87.

    HEAT TWO (-1.7)—Trayvion Jones of Hightower (Sugar Land, Tx./Wings) led all the way in winning with a 14.41, Marchello Sinkfield of Douglass (Atlanta, Ga./Quicksilver) was a time qualifier at 14.55.

    HEAT THREE (-1.9)—Chance Casey of Cosby (Tx./Track Houston) was another wire to wire winner clocking 14.43. Cedrique Smith of Agua Fria (Avondale, Az.) passed Brice Myers of Erie One Exclusive in the final five meters to become a time qualifier in 14.47.

    HEAT FOUR (-2.4)—Steve Emere of Redan (Stone Mountain, Ga.) just edged William Lindsey of Illinois Bombers, 14.40 to 14.49. Lindsey was a time qualifier.

    HEAT FIVE (-2.8)—Booker Nunley of Garner (N.C./Track Eastern Carolina) was the only qualifier at 14.74.  

 

400-Meter Intermediate Hurdles

First Four in Each Heat Plus Next Four Fastest Qualify For Final

     HEAT ONE—Amaechi Morton of Riverwood (Atlanta, Ga./Quicksilver) and Chance Casey of Crosby (Tx./Track Houston) were close at 200 before Morton, pulled away for the win in a personal best of 52.06. Casey was second at 52.88.

    HEAT TWO—William Wynne of McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga./Titans) and Demetrius Addison of Cooley, Detroit, Mi./Detroit Cheetahs) were the early leaders before Wynne, despite some step problems, pulled away for the win, 52.44 to 53.90.

     HEAT THREE—Sharroid Evans of Dulles (Sugar Land, Tx./Wings) took the early lead with Marchello Sinkfield of Douglass (Atlanta, Ga./Quicksilver) close behind. Evans drew out a bit in the third 100 before Sinkfield closed well for second, 53.29 to 53.54.

     HEAT FOUR—Jordan Frazier of Riverdale (Ga./Running Panthers) took an early lead but Kennedy Daugherty of Duncanville (Tx./Junior Speedsters), who is long and lean, shot to the lead around the final turn and was never challenged in running 54.33. Frazier was second at 55.04.

 

 

Intermediate Boys

Finals

200 Meters

Keenan Brock of Club Elite of Birmingham (Al.) and Michael Okoro of  Flying Aj’s were out the quickest but a storming turn by Nycole Griffin of  Benson Tech (Portland, Or./Allegiance) put him back in the race and eventually earned him the win in 22.02.  Okoro was second in 22.08 and Brock was third in 22.10 in a race that was run into a 1.5 meter per second wind.

 

800 Meters

Elias Gedyon of Loyola (Los Angeles, Ca./Quiet Fire) determined the outcome of the race from the start with splits of 27.0 and 53.74. At first Kourtney Payne and William Payne of Texas Stars tried to stay with Gedyon and then William Henry of Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, Oh./Northwest TC) dropped in behind Gedyon at the 400 but from then on it was all Gedyon. He passed 600 meters in 1:22.6 and finished with a personal best of 1:51.91 to just miss the USATF Youth National record of 1:50.51 set by Howard Shepard of Texas Stars in 2006. Gedyon just missed the national high school freshman record of 1:50.03 set by Michael Granville of Bell Gardens (Ca.) in 1993. Henry did make up some ground on Gedyon in the final 200 but by then it was too late as he finished in second at 1:54.68. Payne was third in 1:57.27. Gedyon will have another chance to get the Youth National record in the Intermediate Division since he is in his first year there.

 

Pole Vault

Stephen Greer of Clinton (Ms.) and David Melton of West Ashley (Charleston, S.C./Mt. Pleasant TC) both cleared 14-3 ¼ with Greer getting the win on fewer misses. The clearances were personal best for both athletes. Casey Bowen of Missouri Valley was third at 13-9 ¼.

110-Meter High Hurdles

Heat Winners Plus Next Four Fastest Qualify for Final

 

     HEAT ONE (-1.5)—Tyler Stephenson of Lancaster (Tx./Lancaster Lightning) went quickly to the lead and was never challenged winning at 14.68. Erick Gavin of Lv’s Cheetahs was a time qualifier at 14.93.

    HEAT TWO (-1.4)—Devallee Pedrogo of Mission Viejo (Ca./Wildcats) was the early leader but Kendall Hayes of Lancaster (Tx./Lancaster Lightning) took over at the fifth hurdle and went on to win, 14.60 to 14.83.

     HEAT THREE (-1.7)—Dale Morgan of Taft (Woodland Hills, Ca./Los Angeles Jets) took a while getting going but by the fifth hurdle he had the lead and defeated Jeffery Kilgore of Angelic Flyers, 15.15 to 15.27.

    HEAT FOUR (-2.2)—Freshman Jeylan Reed of Rider (Fort Worth, Tx./Port Arthur) display an unusually quick “snap” in coming off each hurdle on the way to a 14.55 win. Demetrius Lindo of Kennedy (Silver Spring, Md./Hummingbird) was a time qualifier in 14.77.

 

400-Meter Intermediate Hurdles

First Four in Each Heat Plus Next Four Fastest Qualify For Final

     HEAT ONE—Sir’Paul Jones of Ruff Riders and Eddie Lovett of Track Boys were out fastest but Jones established a solid lead at 300 and went on to win in 55.84.

     HEAT TWO—Malcolm Nunley of  Track East Carolina took the early lead but by 300 meters he was joined by Harry Danilevics of Elite Athletics and Derrek Williams of Michigan. Nunley held on to win in 56.47 with Danilevics passing Williams on the run-in, 56.76 to 56.94. Both were time qualifiers.

    HEAT THREE—Jordan Harris of New Dimentions and Sean Johnson of Central California had the early lead. Johnson took over at 300 and was leading when he hit the tenth hurdle. That allowed Kerry Sloan of A Running Start and Herman Washington IV of  New World Track  to finish first and second in, 58.56 and 59.61. Washington did not advance. Johnson was third at 60.23.

    HEAT FOUR—Tyler Stevenson of Lancaster (Tx./Lancaster Lightning) and Dale Morgan of Taft (Woodland Hills, Ca./Los Angeles Jets) were the early leaders but it 250 meters Stevenson pulled away for a convincing, 54.32 to 55.18, win. Bryson Lillarde of Nashville Illusions was a time qualifier in third at 56.52.

 

 

Youth Boys

Finals

200 Meters

 Brake Webb of Northwest Flyers, in lane three, and Brandon Sanders of Palmetto Speed (S.C.), in lane six, were about even at 100 meters before Sanders pulled away for a convincing 22.37 to 22.72 win into a 1.8 meter per second wind. Malcolm Brown of Tulsa Express, who does not use blocks, just held off Izzy Garrison of Illinois, 22.97 to 23.02.

 

800 Meters

James Muniz of Cool Running, Jonathan Young of Cheetahs and Gabriel Martell of Texas Shooting Stars were together at 200 meters passed in 27.0. Muniz and Martell were right together at 400 in 59.10. Martell then took the lead and both runs passed 600 in 1:32.2 just before Muniz retook the lead and went to win in 2:01.94. Martell held off Kenja Hogan of Southern Eagles for third, 2:04.18 to 2:05.33.

 

3,000 Meters

Tate Schienbein of Fast Feat was content to run near the front in the early stages of the race but then took over at 1,600, passed in 4:52.0 and went on to a comfortable win in 9:14.19. Connor Smock of Cedar Rapids was caught in a sort of “no mans land” behind Schienbein, and finished second at 9:23.23. Dillon Worley of Northwest Flyers and Nathaniel Jones of Track Houston engaged in numerous place changes over the final half of the race before Worley prevailed in 9:27.86. Matthew Nelson of New Jersey made a late charge to edge Jones for fourth, 9:29.24 to 9:30.13.

 

Triple Jump

Ronald Geohaghan of Lowcounty Express was the winner at 41-10 ¾ with a generous 1.8 meter per second wind. Shannon Edwards of Bakersfield Grayhounds (Ca.) was second at 40-10 ½ and Calvin Haines of Charlotte Flights was third at 40-10 ¼.

 

Shot Put

Kennedy Estelle of C.L. Athletic Stars had one of the better throws in recent years with a 55-5 ½ winning effort. Also over 52 feet were Travis Colby of Arizona Puma Youth at 52-10 and Jalen Peterkin of Durham Striders (N.C.) at 51-5.

100-Meter High Hurdles

Heat Winners Plus the Next Four Fastest Qualify For Final

    HEAT ONE (+2.1)—Terrell Clements of Track Houston, displayed great form in running a slightly wind-aided 13.64. Spencer Allen of Marion Swamp Fox was a time qualifier at 14.55.

    HEAT TWO (+1.8)—For the entire race there was not much to choose between Charles Rappe of Fort Collins TC (Co.), Jett Baker of Bellevue Breeze and Derek Harper of Quicksilver (Ga.).Rappe got the win in 14.50 and Baker just edged Harper in the last five meters, 14.52 to 14.46. All three advanced.

     HEAT THREE (+1.8)—Kenneth Walker III of ISC International in Northern California looks like he would just as comfortable carrying a pigskin as he is clearing hurdles. And he is very comfortable over the hurdles judging by is winning time of 13.48. Thomas Jones II was a time qualifier at 14.41.

    HEAT FOUR (+1.5)—Devin Hickey of North County Stallions (San Diego, Ca.) gives California two of the best Youth hurdlers it has ever had as can be seen by his winning time of 13.88.

 

200-Meter Low Hurdles

Heat Winners Plus the Next Four Fastest Qualify For Final

   HEAT ONE (-1.1)—Davin Hickey of North County Stallions was very impressive with a 26.37 win.

   HEAT TWO (-1.5)—Jamil Peeples of Port Arthur TC (Tx.) was the early leader but Charles Rappe of Fort Collins TC (Co.), in lane one, ran a great final 100 to win in 26.15. Rashad Hulbert of Illinois Storm and Javon Williams of Arizona Cheetahs were time qualifiers at 27.04 and 27.52, respectively.

    HEAT THREE (-1.3)—Matthew Harris of Zephyrs to the lead but Terrell Clements of Track Houston rocketed off the turn and went on to win in 25.40. Derek Harper of Quicksilver (Ga.) was a time qualifier at 27.26.

    HEAT FOUR (-1.3)—Kenneth Walker III is big, strong and, as he showed, very fast with an uncontested 25.32 for the fastest time of the day. Jett Baker of Bellevue Breeze was a time qualifier at 26.82.

 

 

GIRLS

Young Women

Finals

200 Meters

      In a match up of two of the best high school sprinters in the U.S., Chalonda Goodman of Newnan (Ga./New Horizon) won Round One against Victoria Jordan of Dunbar (Fort Worth, Tx./Dallas Gold).  Goodman, who is the national leader at 23.22, had at least a five meter lead over Jones and that was before either runner had reached the straight. Goodman went on to win in 23.29 running into a 1.1-meter per second wind. Erica Alexander of Clear Brook (Friendswood, Tx./Texas Storm), who was the Texas State 5A champion in 23.53, was second at 24.10 and Lakeshia Williams of Ramsey (Birmingham, Al./Club Elite of Birmingham) was third at 24.15, after setting a personal best of 23.83 in the prelims. Jordan, who finished second at the U.S. Junior Nationals in 23.75 where she was the first prep to finish, was fourth in 24.16. 

 

800 Meters

Amber Key-Murphy of Lancaster (Tx./Lancaster Lightning), ElizabethWhitney of Montgomery (Tx./Track Houston) and Regina George of Gordon Tech (Chicago, Il./Zephyrs, were the leaders at 200, passed in 28.5. Key-Murphy continued to lead at 400, passed in 1:02.14, but Trishawn Battiste of Littleton (Co./Blazers) had move into second followed by George and Whitney. Victoria Gocht of  Upper Dublin (Fort Washington, Pa./United Stars), who has not run for her high school and set an outdoor personal best of 2:16.55 in the heats, opened up a big lead as she passed 600 in 1:39.5 and went on to an easy 2:12.59 win. Battiste passed George in the final 50 meters to grab second, 2:14.14 to 2:15.04. Whitney was fourth at 2:17.91.

 

3,000 Meters

Katherine Showalter of Quicksilver led almost from the start and went on to win in 10:34.35. Brittany Phillips of Cornhusker Flyers (Nb.) was second at 10:43.04 and BreAnna Briggs of Kansas Flyers was third at 10:48.06.

 

High Jump

Maya Pressley of Coconut Creek (Fl./City of Lauderdale) was the winner at 5-8 ¾ and the only jumper to clear that height. Krystle Schade of Piper (Sunrise, Fl./City of Lauderdale) and Janelle Clayton of Suffern (N.Y.) both cleared 5-7 with Schade finishing second with fewer misses.

Heat Winners Plus Next Four Fastest Qualify for Final

    HEAT ONE (+2.4)—Christina Manning of Westlake (Waldorf, Md./747 TC) led the entire way winning with a wind-aided 14.02. Jessica Flax of Pearland (Tx./Texas Storm) and Karynn Dunn of Diamond Ranch (Pomona,  Ca./Inland Empire Sprinters) were close the entire way with Flax getting the nod, 14.20 to 14.23. Nevada Sorenson of Lincoln (Sioux City, S.D./Dakotas) was also a time qualifier at 14.65.

    HEAT TWO (+1.4)—London Finley of St. Mary’s Academy (Inglewood, Ca./Quiet Fire) had the early lead but seemed to fall asleep during the middle of the race as Brianna Patton of Eaglecrest (Aurora, Co./Colorado Flyers) took the lead but then Finlay woke up, blasting  the final three hurdles. and took advantage of Patton’s hurdle problems to win in 14.43.

    HEAT THREE (+2.3)—Donique Flemings of Saginaw (Tx./SACS) went right to business and seemed to be trying to make up for a DQ in the 400 hurdles as she dominated the field in a wind aided 13.87.

    HEAT FOUR (+2.2)—Jasmin Stowers of Pendleton (S.C./Quick Striders) was dominate in running a personal best of 13.46 under any conditions. April Pate Carter (Fontana, Ca./Inland Empire Sprinters) was a time qualifier at 14.65.  

 

400-Meter Intermediate Hurdles

First Four in Each Heat Plus Next Four Fastest Qualify For Final

     HEAT ONE—Doris Anyanwu of Roosevelt (Greenbelt, Md./Hummingbird), who has run 59.75, was out well and took a huge lead before having some step problems and finishing in 61.64. Kala Stepter of Canyon del Oro (Tucson, Az./Pops) passed Sophia Treakle of Asheville, N.C.) on the run-in to take second, 62.74 to 62.98. Stepter was a time qualifier.

     HEAT TWO—Sonni Austin of Miller Grove (Lithonia, Ga./D.C. Express), who has run 60.89, took the early lead and was joined by Danielle Hill of Lancaster (Tx./North Texas Cheetahs) at 200 meters. Austin pulled away for the win in 62.32.

    HEAT THREE—Ashley Starks of Lancaster (Tx./Lancaster Lightning), in lane three and Jasmin Stowers of  Pendleton (S.C./Quick Striders), in lane seven, were one-two for much of the first 300 before Starks pulled away for the win, 61.38 to 62.21. Stowers was a time qualifier.

     HEAT FOUR—Turquoise Thompson of Serra (Gardena, Ca./Together Elite) won going away in 59.58 to become the fifth fastest high school performer in the nation. London Finley of St. Mary’s Academy, Inglewood, Ca./Quite Fire) remained close for the first 200 and was a time qualifier at 62.49.

     HEAT FIVE—Donique Flemings of Saginaw (Tx./Sacs) the national high school leader in the 300 hurdles at 40.96 with a best of 60.03 in the 400 hurdles, built a big lead and won easily but was later disqualified. Sara Benson of Speed T&F was the winner at 64.72.

 

 

Intermediate Girls

Finals

200 Meters

      Ashley Collier of Dunbar (Fort Worth, Tx./Dallas Gold) and Tiffany Hines of  Skyline (Dallas, Tx./Dallas Gold) got off together but once Collier reach the straightaway she was off to the races and won in 23.70 into a 1.1 meter per second wind. Hines was second at 24.15. Veronica Johnson of Myers Park (Charlotte, N.C./Quiet Storm) was third at 24.38 and Brianna Frazier of Raines (Jacksonville, Fl.) was fourth at 24.63.

 

800 Meters

      Nia Fluker of Christway Christian (Duncanville, Tx.) shot to the lead after passing 200 in 28.1. By 400 meters, passed in 58.28, she had opened up a 10-meter lead over Claudia Francis of Benjamin Cardozo (Oakland Gardens, N.Y./Team Evolution), Phyllis Francis of McAuley (Brooklyn, N.Y./Team Evolution) and Samantha Berggren of Mullen Prep (Denver, Co.). Phyllis Francis then took flight and overtook Fluker at 600 passed in 1:32.2 before accelerating in the final straight to win in 2:04.83 to rank No. 3 on the yearly high school list. Francis’ time broke the USATF Junior Olympic Intermediate Division record of 2:06.64 set by Chanelle Price of Easton (Pa./United Stars) in 2006. Fluker finished second in 2:08.69 followed by Berggren at 2:09.13 and Claudia Francis at 2:11.75 as the top five finishers all had personal bests.

 

3,000 Meters

Eleanor Fulton of Highlands Ranch (Co./Zoom) led for much of the race before Elizabeth Briasco of Queen’s (Jamaica, N.Y./Awesome) took over with two laps remaining. Fulton then retook the lead with one lap remaining, passed in 8:51.0, and went on to win in 10:03.04. Diane Robison of Parkway Central, Chesterfield, Mo./Team Missouri) used a great last lap to just edge Briasco for second, 10:10.16 to 10:10.17.

 

Javelin

    Hannah Carson of Dobson (Mesa, Az./Arizona Cheetahs) defeated Deloma Fawn Miller of Lakeview (Stoneboro, Pa.), 151-07 to 144-9, in a match up of two of the best high school  throwers in the nation. Avione Allgood of PS Vegas Flyers (Nv.) was third with a personal best of 141-03.

Heat Winner Plus Next Four Fastest Qualify for Final

    HEAT ONE (+1.7)—Laque Davis of Central (Omaha, Nb./Jaguars) passed Ryesa Whigham of Sharpstown (Houston, Tx./My Stars) in the last five meters to win, 14.63 to 14.69. Jatavia Wright of Central (Miami, Fl./ Northwest Express) was a time qualifier at 14.87.

     HEAT TWO (+1.4)—A’Lexus Brannon of Ozen (Beaumont, Tx./Port Arthur TC) was an easy wire to wire winner in 14.21. Ashley Davis of Emerald (Greenwood, S.C./Quick Striders) was a time qualifier at 14.76.

    HEAT THREE (+1.6)—Chalese Davis of Hercules (Ca./Flying Jaguars) just held off a charging Ayanna Scott of Lanphier (Springfield, Il./Springfield Striders), 14.52 to 14.54.

    HEAT FOUR (+2.3)—Alicia Perkins of Elsik (Alief, Tx./Houston Heat) was an easy winner in 14.79.

 

400-Meter Intermediate Hurdles

First Four in Each Heat Plus Next Four Fastest Qualify For Final

     HEAT ONE—Sylvonna Thompson of  Track Houston was leading at 200 meters but then Chamique Francis of Ruff Kutz, running in lane one, took the lead and went on to win in 62.48. Catherine Alvares of Speed T&F was a time qualifier at 63.51.

     HEAT TWO—Allison Reaser of El Segundo (Ca./Together Elite) took the early lead but was joined at 200 by Kayla Thompson of Texas Shooting Stars. Reaser then pulled away for the win in 65.19.

      HEAT THREE—Sharvon Briscoe of  North Point (Md./747 TC) was the early leader but had to fight off Tia Gamble of North Texas Cheetahs for the win, 63.68 to 63.73. Gamble was a time qualifier.

     HEAT FOUR—Alexandria Gochenour of Logan-Magnolia (Magnolia, Ia./Cornhusker Flyers) and Samantha Chamberlin of Speed T&F were leading at 200 before Chamberlin gained the advantage at 300 meters only to see Ayana Scott, running one lane inside of Chamberlin, took the lead on the run-in for a, 63.94 to 64.92, win. Chamberlin was a time qualifier.

     HEAT FIVE—Angelina Weaver of Rancho Cucamonga (Ca./Together Elite) took the early lead but was challenged by Brittany Cotto of Pacific United at 200 meters before pulling away for the win in 64.52.   

 

 

Youth Girls

Finals

200 Meters

       Robin Reynolds of Northwestern Express (Miami, Fl.) and Aaliyah Brown of Illinois Elite Youth (Il.) staged one of the greatest sprint duals in recent memory. The two got off very even and when they entered the straight Brown was leading by what looked to be inches. For the next 80 meters Reynolds tried to cut into the lead and when she saw that it was probably not going to happen she threw herself at the finish line, stumbling slightly in a losing effort, 24.26 to 24.33. Lateisha Philson of Ruff Kutz was third in 24.87. The race was run with a 0.6 meter per second wind..

 

800 Meters

      Laura McDowell of Southern California took this race by the throat running 28.0, 1:01.63 and 1:36.0 before finishing in a personal best of 2:09.56 to just miss the USATF Junior Olympic Youth record of 2:09.00 set by Treani Swain of Los Angeles in 1998. Chimere Ezumah of Bay Cities was second at 2:14.48 and Savannah Camacho of Paso Robles (Ca./San Luis Obispo Distance Club), was third at 2:15.54.

 

3,000 Meters

      With two laps remaining, the race had come down to Rolando Jumbo of Team Rez Runners, Katherine Adams of Illinois and Amy-Eloise Neale of  Snohomish (Wa.). This order remained until 200 meters when first Adams moved to the lead only to see Neale take over with 80 meters remaining and hold on for the win, 10:17.19 to 10:17.42. Kaylor Murray of Nashville Illusions (Tn.) was third at 10:30.96 and Courtney Filliben of Alpha Omega Elite was forth in 10:33.48 as Jumbo dropped to fifth in 10:34.77.

 

Long Jump

Tessa Runels of James Logan (Union City, Ca./Mission Valley) was the winner of her “second event” in 17-8 ¼, followed by JaVanique Burrus of Virginia at 17-4 ¾ and Lacey Dent of Mobile Parks and Recreation (Al.) at 17-2 ¼.

Heat Winners Plus Next Three Fastest Qualify for Final

    HEAT ONE (+1.8)—Ebony Morrison  of One Shot just held off Taylor Thomas of Quiet Fire (Ca.), 15.18 to 15.31.

   HEAT TWO (+2.6)—Trinity Wilson of EOYDC (Ca.) was “gone” running a wind-aided 13.78 and winning by almost 1.5 seconds. Sherrelle Jordan of Arizona Cheetahs was a time qualifier at 15.24. The USATF Youth Girls national record is 14.01 set by Dominque Manning of North (Riverside, Ca.) in 2001.

    HEAT THREE (+2.2)—Skylar Ransom of Track Houston had about a half a step on Ageelah Muhammad of Quiet Fire (Ca.) the entire way before winning, 15.07 to 15.21.

     HEAT FOUR (+0.6)—Jordi Munford of Southern California Running Cougars led the entire way winning in 14.95. Sasha Wallace of 3M (Ca.) was a time qualifier at 15.04.

    HEAT FIVE (+1.8)—Lateisah Philson of Ruff Kutz was another wire to wire winner clocking 14.47.

 

200-Meter Low Hurdles

Heat Winners Plus Next Three Fastest Qualify For Final.

    HEAT ONE  (-1.5)—Lateisha Philson of Ruff Kutz had no competition winning in 27.67. Janieyah Collins of Charlotte Flyers was a time qualifier at 29.20.

    HEAT TWO (-1.3)—Laura McDowell of Southern California and Makayla Flannigan of Arizona Cheetahs were both out well early but then McDowell, who seemed to adjust well to the hurdles, easily moved away for the win in 28.28. Ebony Morrison of One Shot was a time qualifier at 29.14.

      HEAT THREE (-1.4)—Sasha Wallace of 3M Track Club was an easy winner at 28.54.

     HEAT FOUR (-1.1)—Jaide Stepter of Pops (Ar.) was a wire to wire winner in 28.93 in a race where most of the competitors seemed to have step problems.

     HEAT FIVE (-1.6)—Nasjua Palmer of California Rising Stars had a big lead until the final hurdle when she caught her trail leg and dropped to third. Tametris Morrison of Upper Room won the race in 28.70 and Joymesia Howard of Dashers Track Club was a time qualifier at 29.18. Palmer was timed in 29.40.
