Junior Mason Finley of Colorado set a personal indoor best of 62-3 to win and remain in seventh on the yearly list. Wesley Wright of Villa Rica (Ga.), finished second for the second straight year but improved his performance to 61-11. Bryce Hall of Davis (Kaysville, Ut.) was third at 59-2 ½, Louis Day of New York City was fourth at 53-6 and Justin Roberts of Central (Cheyenne, Wy.) was fifth at 53-2. Finlay’s series: 57-0, 56-8, 61-1, 62-3, f, 59-7.

Weight throw champion Wes Wright (right) had a frown on his face after his 2nd place throw of 61-11. He was still miffed about the foul call on his previous throw, which led to a sharp exchange with officials. Winner Mason Finley (left) was more mellow throughout.
