6A Sprinters Turn Hayward Field into a Speedway

Ryan Bailey (McKay sr) and Mandy White (Lakeridge sr) burned the straights in front of an appreciative grandstand crowd, each taking a 100/200 double. Bailey's 10.65 and 21.11 were wind-aided, but his 200 was the all-time state best under any condition. White's 11.90 tied a MR and her 24.31 set a new state meet record. Neither competed in the state meet as a junior, due to injury.
