2008 Race Information

The Deseret News Junior 10K Road Race run in conjunction with the Deseret Morning News 10K will be run on Thursday, July 24 - Utah’s biggest day of the year – Pioneer Day. Pioneer Day commemorates when the Mormon Pioneers first came into the valley with the races and a huge parade. The 10k has been run since 1983 and the marathon, that is run on the same day, has been run on Pioneer Day since 1970. The course is run in front of 200,000 people along the parade route.

In 2006 the race directors provided uniform tops for the "Utah", World, and USA teams.

This 2007 team competition was Utah vs USA in boys and girls. The elite junior entrants were given elite status in the front of the race at the start.
