Saturday Highlights
  • Luke Puskedra (Judge Memorial UT) became the first Utah schoolboy to break 9 minutes for 3200 inside the state of Utah with his 8:56.71 state record in Provo's substantial altitude. Doubles back with 4:15.85 1600 win
  • Senior twins Natalie and Nachelle Stewart (Spanish Fork UT) turned the meet into the Stewart Sister Show with a head-spinning pair of performances which included a 1-2 finish in the 400, led by Natalie's US#1 53.39 (Nachelle 55.06), a 1-2 finish in the 200, led by Natalie's 24.61 MR (Nachelle 25.22), a US#3 2:08.48 800 for Nachelle, and a 12.00 (+0.0) 100 win by Natalie for good measure.
  • Davis UT's distance pair of Natalie Haws (10:44.24) and Candace Eddy (10:46.59) both slipped under the old meet record in the girls 3200, slashing the 5A state record in the process with their 1-2 performance.
  • Snow Canyon UT sophomore Adam Timo scaled 7-00.00 in the high jump to tie the meet record and grab the win
  • Sophomores Franco Montes (Ogden UT) and Jeff Daw (Skyline UT) dueled in a close 400 final that saw both slip under the existing meet record, Montes in 47.81 and Daw in 47.91. Daw came back to take the 200 in 21.67 (-1.1w)
  • Throwers Bryce Hall (Davis UT sr) and Nicole Knighton (Bountiful UT sr) swept the boys and girls shot put and discus events, reaching 57-02.00 SP/170-02 DT and 44-09.25 SP/122-03 DT, respectively
