Team Champs:
  • Class 4A - Burlington boys 106 over Cedar Rapids Prairie 109; Dowling Catholic girls 57 over Iowa City High 65
  • Class 3A - Pella boys 95 over Boone 109; Dubuque Wahlert girls 84 over Decorah 96
  • Class 2A - Spirit Lake boys 60 over South Winneshiek 77; Laporte City Union girls 57 over Pekin 60
  • Class 1A - Iowa Mennonite School boys 71 over BCLUW 98; Nodaway Valley girls 126 over Dike-New Hartford 127

Girls Highlights
  • HL#1 Dowling Catholic's 1-2 punch of US#18 Katie Flood and US#19 Ashlie Decker ruled at the top, as expected, but the rest of the team held their own as well for the 8-point 4A victory over tough HL#2 Iowa City High.  That makes three straight wins for DC.  Soph Diane Hubbell, senior Heather Tobias (15:12) and freshman Vanessa Miller (15:37) matched their closest rival point for point.  HL#5 Iowa City West was 3rd with 107 and HL bubble team West Des Moines Valley 4th with 117
  • Flood's win was her 3rd in 4 years (plus a 2nd), with teammate Decker finishing with one victory, 2 runner-ups and an 8th.  Soiux City East soph Shelby Houlihan was 3rd for the 2nd straight year with 14:14, 26 seconds faster than 4th -- or anyone else in the other three classes
