5A Regional @ ESU, EmporiaKapaun Mt. Carmel (Wichita) distance runners Mackenzie Maki (2:20.9/ 5:10.9/ 11:17.3) and
Kyle Glasgow (1:56.6/ 4:30.7/ 10:12.8) each won three events at Emporia State's fine facility.  Emily Cook of KMC won two throws with a 43-5/ 123-5
performances in the shot and disc, with Charissa Wall (Winfield) second in both. Kyle Long 14.8/ 38.7 and Kristen Sponsel (15.3/ 46.8) each won a j
hurdles double for Bishop Carroll (Wichita).  Brandon Grentz (Emporia) won a 22-0.75/ 44-6.25 horizontal jumps double

5A Regional @ Gardner-Edgerton HS, Gardner:  Field events were strong at the Gardner-Edgerton regional.  Cameron Taylor of Bishop Miege (Shawnee Mission) lept
23-10.25 to win the long jump.  Isaac Mallory and Kyle Wait went 1-2 for Gardner-Edgerton
in the boys PV, each leaping 15-0, with Casey Bowen of G-E taking third with a 14-6 leap.  Ashley Bowman (Mill Valley, Shawnee) lept 11-6 to win the girls
PV.  Kyle Hanson (St. Thomas Aquinas, Overland Park) doubled in the distances, winning in 4:28.87/ 9:49.40 with team-mate PJ Greer second in both.  Jonathan
Walker (Bonner
Springs) won four events, taking the 100/200/110H and running on the winning 4 x 100.  Amber Kloster of Pittsburg highlighted throws with
a 40-1 SP and 139-1 JT.

5A Regional @ Great BendAlex Reed of Great Bend starred, winning the 400 (48.87), 200 (21.77) and LJ (22-6), establishing himself as one of the
state's top sprinters.  Adam Porter (McPherson), owner of the state's top 800 and 1600 times, cruised to wins in the 800, 1600, and 3200 in controlled fashion.
Newton's deep corps of sprinters dashed to a 42.40 4 x 100 win.  Caitlyn Murray (Great Bend) starred on the girls track, winning the 100H (14.85) and 300H (45.14)
and taking the LJ in 17-7.5.  Alex Hartig (Great Bend) starred in the throws, winning the SP (45-7), DT (139-11) and taking second in the JT (125-0) to
Makayla McPhail (McPherson, 139-11JT).

5A Regional @ Hummer Sports Complex, Topeka Abreanna Parker led the Shawnee Heights (Topeka) girls to an overwhelming team victory, and won two highly
anticipated sprint duels with Letristan Pledger (Washington, Kansas City).  Parker won the 100 (12.42), 200 (25.18) and LJ (19-8.5), plus ran on Shawnee Heights
49.16 4 x 100 winner.  Pledger was second to Parker in the 100, 200 and LJ, and won the 100H (15.02). Shawnee Heights also won the boys title in esy fashion. 
Brandon Craig (Lansing) highlighted boys action, winning the 1600 (4:25.93) and 3200 (9:57.23).
