Meet Information
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Competing Grand Prix Student Athlete: There are no eligibility requirements, except those established by each university participating track & field series, to compete as a Grand Prix student athlete.
2. Competing At The Missouri Valley Grand Prix Championship: To compete at the Missouri Valley Grand Prix Championship, which will be held on February 28, 2009, Student Athletes must be current members of USATF. GRAND PRIX SCORING SYSTEM 1. Top Six Finishers In Each Grand Prix Event: The top six competitors in each Grand Prix event will receive points based on their finishing place.
2. Grand Prix Point Scoring: The following Grand Prix points will be awarded for each of the following finishing places: GRAND PRIX SCORING FOR SERIES MEETS | GRAND PRIX SCORING FOR CHAMPIONSHIP | a. First Place: 6 points b. Second Place: 5 points c. Third Place: 4 points d. Fourth Place: 3 points e. Fifth Place: 2 points f. Sixth Place: 1 points | a. First Place: 10 points b. Second Place: 9 points c. Third Place: 8 points d. Fourth Place: 7 points e. Fifth Place: 6 points f. Sixth Place: 5 points | GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT:
The following are the Grand Prix events: CHAMPIONSHIP TRACK EVENTS | CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD EVENTS | *60 Meter Dash *60 Meter Hurdles 200 Meter Dash *400 Meter Dash 800 Meter Dash *1500 Meter Run 1500 Meter Race Walk *Indicates the Grand Prix Scoring Events. | *Long Jump *High Jump *Shot Put | GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT WINNERS & GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONS 1. Grand Prix Event Award Winners: The top three highest female and male point scorers in each event will receive awards at the end of the Grand Prix Indoor Championship.
2. Grand Prix Overall Points Champions: The male and female student athletes with the highest total Grand Prix points will be named the Grand Prix Champions.
3. Grand Prix Championship Meet Award Winners: The top three highest female and male point finishers in each Grand Prix event at the Grand Prix Championship Meet will receive individual awards.
