GIRLS
Mansfield jr Shade Weygandt claimed the title with a 1st-attempt clearance at 13-4, before missing 3 times at 13-7. Vandebilt Catholic (LA) sr Rachel Laurent cleared 13-0 for silver.

- I really like jumping here. It’s my 5th time (2 states, 3 Relays) and it’s usually gone well (US class records in winning state as a freshman and sophomore)
- The wind helped (tailwind), but forced me to use bigger poles. My last two attempts (at 13-7) were on the biggest pole (a 13-9) I’ve ever tried. I had moved up to a 13-6/170 to make 13-4 (used for the first time last week to make 13-9.5), then tried a 13-7 for my first attempt at 13-7.
- I really wanted Rachel to make 13-4 so we could push each other. We're good friends who text and call each other all the time. We let each other know when we make a big height.
- It feels really great. I’m a little bummed I didn’t get to improve my record (meet 13-4), but I still did really well. I got to move up to my biggest poles, and everything I’ve been doing in practice is definitely paying off.
Rachel Laurent:
- Today I just couldn’t move the standards back far enough (with the tailwind and her usual poles)
- I used a 13-7/162, my normal pole, and had to move up to a 165 which I first used on Tuesday to make 13-10 at my Terrebonne Parish meet
