Leaving the Capital Building, 50 meters into the race
|  | | | Bryan Downey led through 400 in 58.6, while Blake Shaw (#526, state 5A 800 silver), Brock Simmons (506, Texas Relays champ), Colby Lowe (502, 5A 1600-3200 champ) and Alex Neff (515, 5A 3200 silver) were near the front. Downey brought the pack through 800 in 2:00.5.

Lorin Wilson (#538 in white, 4A champ) moved up and led through 1200 in 3:05.6, as CJ Brown (far right in blue, 5A silver) joined the leaders
