- Lincoln Way Central IL freshman Lukas Verzbicas, competing unattached, first slashed nearly 5 seconds from the former freshman class mile record of 4:21.20 held by Andrew Perkins WI, blazing a 4:15.43 victory in the boys mile to easily turn back Rogers AR sr Cameron Efurd, 4:20.29.
- But he wasn't done yet ... in the 3000 meters, Verzbicas completed a mind-boggling double for a 9th-grader with another national mark of 8:29.16, winning by 19 seconds over Zach Ornelas TX (8:48.81).
- Turning back previous US#1 Newburgh Elite TC (Newburgh NY), Track Eastern Carolina (New Bern NC) blazed a #3 all-time mark of 1:27.02 to win the 4x200, with Newburgh 2nd at 1:29.91. The Track EC crew doubled back in the 4x400, after pulling their stars from the 400 and 200 finals, and hit another US#1 with 3:19.28 to Newburgh's 3:21.28.
- US#1 60H marks of 7.79 for Wayne Davis II (Southeast Raleigh NC sr) and 8.55 for Donique Flemings (SACs Elite TC/Saginaw TX sr).
