  • 6-8 high jump by Ft Bend Austin sr Jeff Herron
  • Clear Creek jr Taylor Smith, 8th in the 5A girls state discus last year, won her specialty in 142-2
  • Elsik girls swept the short relays, clocking 46.88 in the 4x100 (Eisenhower 2nd in 47.32) and 1:40.92 in the 4x200
  • The 4x400 crown was awarded to Westside girls for their 3:52.66 effort
  • Defending 5A state 100 champ Cy Springs sr Grecia Bolton captured the 100 in 12.29
  • Alief Taylor sr DeAndre Thompson was a busy young man, earning gold for 49.33 in the 400 (World Youth Game 1500m finalist Cy Falls sr Blake Shaw 49.49 for silver), 1:59.53 in the 800 and 46-2.5 in the triple jump
  • Cy Fair sr Sam McGuffie claimed the 100 in 10.92 and the long jump with a mark of 22-10
