  • Class 3A - Daviess County boys 98 over St. Xavier 113 ; Assumption girls 67 over Sacred Heart 83
  • Class 2A - North Oldham boys 108 over Calloway 140 ; South Oldham girls 85 over Lloyd Memorial 105
  • Class 1A - St. Henry District boys 87 over Villa Madonna 110 ; St. Henry District girls 44 over Walton Verona 72
Class 3A Highlights
  • Consistency is key for SE#4 Daviess County boys, winning with just one runner in the top fifteen; Just five points separated second-place St. Xavier (113) from Trinity (118)
  • Ryan Eaton (Greenwood jr) improves on last year’s seventh place finish to claim the individual state title with the fastest time of the day in 15:55.7; Eaton was followed by a near pile-up of juniors with Stacey Eden (Shelby County 16:02) in second and Jackson Carnes (St. Xavier 16:03) in third
  • Emma Brink (Sacred Heart so) duplicated her freshman year success to earn top honors with a finish time of 18:37.64; Maggie Mattingly (John Hardin jr) also familiar with the feel of the podium moved up a step for second in 18:50
  • Assumption girls finish first again with 67 points, beating out Sacred Heart (83) for the second year in a row
Class 2A Highlights
  • North Oldham boys squeeze three into the top ten, the powerful punch it took to win the team title with 108 points; Runner-up Calloway County (140) managed to hold off South Oldham (141) and West Jessamine (142)
  • South Oldham senior Jacob Law ran a winning time of 16:12.61, beating 2007 third place finisher Thomas Canary (Lexington Catholic sr) who finished in a time of 16:20
  • Jessie Murner (South Oldham so) led the charge for the team title by running a winning time of 19:40.74; Powell County senior Tenny Ostrom finished second in 19:54
  • South Oldham girls score 85 points with two in the top four to out run second place finisher Lloyd Memorial who scored 105
Class 1A Highlights
  • James Maglasang (St. Mary jr) moved comfortably into first with a time of 16:08.79 after finishing second in 2007; Villa Madonna top runner Corey Stoll (sr) took silver with his 16:16 finish
  • St. Henry District boys win again using the strong pack tactic, their five scorers finishing between ninth and twenty-fifth; Villa Madonna put up a strong fight, winning through four, they finished second with 110 points
  • St. Henry District girls win to seal up the repeat team sweep, scoring a low 44 points; Walton Verona scored 72 pointd, also feeling déjà vu with another year as runner-up
  • Kaitlin Snapp (Danville fr) and Danielle Hoop (Owen County so) also repeated their 1-2 finishes from 2007, both improving to this year’s finishing times to have the fastest two times of the day 18:25.51 and 18:29
