THIS WEEK IN NEW YORK
Here is a list of the upcoming Sectional Championship tilts all around New York State. The CHSAA and the PSAL have already held their Sectional Championships. The formula for NY is pretty “interesting,” to say the least, but does get everyone involved in all 14 “sections” which are part of the four families = CHSAA: Catholic High School Athletic Association, PSAL: Public School Athletic League, AIS: Association of Independent Schools and the NYSPHSAA: New York State Public High School Athletic Association (affectionately referred to as the “alphabet league”).
The simplest breakdown looks like this: Sectionals to Intersectionals to the Federation Championship with at Large bids determined by “committee.” Stay tuned boys and girls - this will be loads of fun!!!

UPSET ON LONG ISLAND!!! At the Nassau – Suffolk Catholic High School Athletic Association Championships NY NTN #10 Chaminade beats #5 Kellenberg on the sixth man tie breaker. In an always spirited team and individual clash the Flyers took the team title on the basis of their sixth man coming in 12th and the Firebirds sixth scorer crossing the line in 18th place.
